Another week… Had a couple of convos with senior folks about my role, got some feedback, nothing really actionable… We’ll see…
Words of the week:
- Easier said than done: I don’t recall what I had here… I think it had something to do with the “easy” analyses that people want to do.
- Work-Life Balance: I need to figure it out. There’s a lot of flexibility, but I seem to be burning the candle at both ends. I tend to get in early, and stay late. Most people tend to come late and leave on time. I’ll have to continue to explore so that I can work out.
- Strategy vs. Strategy: This has been a recurring discussion. It seems that people have a hard time teasing out strategy from tactics supporting strategy. For example, they know that I come from a management consulting firm where I worked on strategy projects. These were direction setting projects that were meant to shape organizations. Here, we seem to talk about strategy as projects that support a pre-existing strategy, and not one that sets a new direction.
Number of the week:
- 5: as in the days of the week… It feels like I’m just counting down the hours until the week-end.
Yeah… coasting…
