An up-down week. Lots of good work, but some really frustrating bits. My wife quit her job this week, so now we have to figure things out some more.
Words of the week:
- Service Mindset: Maybe it’s because it’s tax week, and I’m dealing with a lot of legal & accounting folks, but I am just floored by the poor service mindset in so many professions. It’s toeing the line of the company, rather than putting yourself in the place of the customer to understand what the customer needs.
- Ownership Mindset: I’m not talking in terms of property ownership, but the care that you give to something if you are an owner (keeping in mind that not all owners really care). The drive to care for something, make it better, polish it, grow it, cherish it is so key to helping companies grow.
- Systems Mindset: Or thinking in systems. I see a lot of people that struggle with understanding action and consequences and how systems work. It ties to the above two a bit.
