A difficult week last week. After being sick (cold) the previous week, I found myself playing catch up before my trip. Unfortunately, to add insult to injury, I was mentally stuck on a client situation which gave me little room to think about other things. I thought the situation was going to get resolved on Thursday, and some progress has been made, but it’s far from solved.
Words of the week:
- “Nothing to lose”: With our pending situation (move to London), I find that I am emboldened when engaging in certain client conversations. I wish I had that more often, and didn’t need to have an actual move to drive me to have more of spine when forcing important issues with clients.
- Comfort Seats: So I experimented this trip, and upgraded my seat to a bit more comfort. The extra $20 was worth it. I got to sleep a bit more in a seat that actually supported me and felt refreshed the next day. I will need to make that the new normal.
- Pace: I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Pace is such an important part of life. I am feeling very positive about this coming week in Europe. While I don’t have the meetings that I had planned, I do have an agenda for the week, and a good program for the week. It starts with running this week-end and getting over jet-lag fast.
Number of the Week:
- 4000: As in the dollars. The cost of a new computer. WOW! But given that I kept my last one for 5+ years, it means that it’s about $2 a day, for the most important tool that I have.
