Week 29… A very busy week. It started a bit abruptly as the innovation project that I’m working on has a few too many cooks in the kitchen. We’ve been able to make some good progress and ended up on a high note.
Words of the week:
-
Innovate: These two innovation projects are getting me quite excited about the potential for my role to develop into something bigger, something more interesting. The struggle will be that our definition of innovation is very much tied to technology application, when in many ways we can go so much broader and deeper with clients. However I think this is a worthwhile pursuit.
-
Fall: We are starting to get the first taste of Fall. The air is a bit cooler in the eveningsWe went to a spa on Thursday night. What a nice treat. It was so nice to go in and take a hot bath and soak for 45 minutes. It really helped me relax and slow down. I got a bit reflective, and that was nice.
-
Drive: My drive is just as strong as ever. It’s interesting how the frustration of the situation with work, has pushed me to be more driven, focused, and direct. At the same time, I’ve found myself more balanced and less emotional. It really goes back to what I’ve been feeling for a long time. As long as I work on something with meaning, then my energy level skyrockets.
Number of the Week:
- 13:36: It takes innovative CPG companies 13 months to get a product to market. It took Google 3 years to get Glass to market (and it’s still in limited release).
