Up-and-down… That basically sums up the week. What started out well, got crazy, and then got back to somewhat of a normal. My wife’s role – for which we depend on for the visa – is now under question, and I’ve barely been here a couple of weeks…
Words of the week:
- Trust: So much of what we have to do in life is about trust. Trusting one another, trusting companies, trusting systems and processes. I’m learning the hard way that trusting should only be reserved for the few.
- Daylight: One of the hardest part of getting used to being in London is that it seems that it stays dark (in the morning) much later than back in Boston. This makes the morning routine difficult to handle. Daylight Savings goes into effect this week-end, but it just means that sunrise will be at about 7am…
- Shitty Companies: Ok… two words. Shitty companies are just that. There’s no saving them.
Number of the Week:
- £15.00 (or 80/20): I got this haircut this week. If you know me, you know that my “haircut” is basically no hair. At home I used clippers to buzz it weekly, and it was a 5 minute affair. Here, it took 20 minutes, and I got a hair wash (yes…) at the end. After the wash, I even got a blow dry treatment, and a “finisher” making sure all my hair was smooth and even (he went at it with scissors). The next morning, I got up and found that they had missed some hair… 80/20 dudes.
